Field work

My face is flushed from raking over and leveling out the field. I’m hot, sweaty and covered in dust. I cannot wait until it rains. I will then work in the mud. I know it’s physically taxing working in mud, but at least it doesn’t end up covering my hair. I can’t believe I forgot to roll it up into a scarf before I put my hat on. I guess I will be washing my curls out in the shower this evening. I had planned on doing something special with my hair, but it will have to wait until after planting season.
It isn’t like we have a humongous garden. My body just needs to get used to the manual labor of turning the field over. I’ve always worked a much smaller garden or even just planters when I lived in apartments. It’s nice to have a bit more space but the upkeep is intense.
